The 4 Day Rwanda Gorilla Safari is a well-paced primate and cultural experience centered around mountain gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. This itinerary allows ample time to explore Rwanda’s stunning landscapes, engage in cultural encounters, and enjoy optional golden monkey tracking or Dian Fossey hiking.

Detailed Tour Plan

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by your professional driver-guide.

Depending on arrival time, enjoy a guided Kigali city tour including:

After breakfast, drive approximately 2.5 hours north to Volcanoes National Park, located in the Virunga Mountain range.

Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, you may opt for:

Early breakfast, then transfer to Kinigi park headquarters for registration and briefing by park rangers.

You will be assigned a gorilla family group based on your fitness level. The trek can take between 2–6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas.

Once located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. This intimate wildlife encounter is often described as one of the most powerful wildlife experiences in the world.

Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
